Flood Protection

UPDATE: The Louisiana Department of Insurance is submitting a Declaration of Emergency–Emergency Rule 28 — Suspension of Right to Cancel or Nonrenew Residential, Commercial Residential, or Commercial Property Insurance Due To Historic Flooding.

As President Obama plans to visit Louisiana to see the destruction left behind from recent flooding, I am calling on him to direct funds in his supplemental executive budget to the Greater Baton Rouge area for flood protection. I ask you to join me.
Sign the petition below and ask the President to direct federal funds to flood protection for the Greater Baton Rouge area.

Residents in the Amite River Basin have been paying a property tax for over 13 years and have seen very little progress with the Comite River Diversion Canal. The people of this state deserve better. I am respectfully asking President Obama to take the necessary action to prevent a future flooding disaster.
